Movies in Russia

привет, my friend!

Thursday = just one more left until the weekend!

Since we work until 4 pm during summer Fridays, tomorrow I'll go to the movies in the evening with my two friends: me and myself. The issue about going to the movies in Russia is that all movies are dubbed (I wonder if Angelina Jolie would still sound hot in Russian). Luckily, there is a movie theater at the Radisson hotel that shows movies in their original language, but there's only one screening room. So I can watch any movie as long as it's Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yesterday I also watched a movie, this one called "The Detonator" with Wesley Snipes. As the title suggests, the movie blows -- for those who don't understand American slang, the movie was really dumb. The interesting thing is that I was watching a pirate DVD :-) which I borrowed from one of the expats. According to statistics, over 50% of CD's and DVD's sold in Russia are counterfeit. And the biggest market of fake media -- Gorbushka -- is just 2 subway stations from where I'll leave :-b I guess pirate DVD's will be part of my anti-boredom arsenal during the winter, along with iTunes (see post below).
